MARCEL SAWICKI is a award-winning screenwriter, director, and commercial creative. He is a graduate of the California Institute of the Arts.
Marcel directed The Loneliness of the Short-Order Cook, produced by Academy Award winning film studio Opus Film, which premiered at the Cannes Film Festival and numerous other international film festivals such as Mar Del Plata, Mill Valley, Rome, Gdynia, Sao Paulo, Seattle, Santiago, and Austin among others. The film garnered the Grand Prix in Santiago, Chile and the Audience Award at the Gdynia Film Festival, Poland's top film festival. His student thesis film, Holiday, won the Best short prize at the Rome IFF and received a Jury Special Mention at the Sao Paulo IFF. It was invited to screen at NYMoMA as part of a program focusing on the immigrant perspective.
As commercial creative, Marcel has directed over 40 commercial campaigns and music videos in the US and Europe.
As screenwriter, he develops and writes TV series and is the co-screenwriter of a major motion picture that is currently in pre-production.
He divides his time between Warsaw and Los Angeles.
